Honey Garlic Cough Syrup
Looking to expand your medicine cabinet this winter? Try making some honey garlic syrup!
Raw honey is an antimicrobial (kills bacteria), soothes the throat, and is great for treating coughs. Raw garlic is also antimicrobial and boosts the immune system. The combo of these two actually tastes surprisingly ok (think honey garlic sauce)!
**Never give honey to a child under 1 year of age.**
Fill a small clean jar with peeled garlic cloves
Pour raw honey over top
Push the cloves down to ensure the garlic is covered with honey
Put a lid on and leave overnight for at least 12 hours.
Store in the cupboard. After two weeks, remove the garlic cloves.
Take a spoonful of the honey garlic as needed for coughs and sore throats.
*If you don't have time to wait 12 hours, just crush a clove of garlic, mix with honey and eat that - it'll have a stronger flavour but equally effective (as long as the garlic is crushed or chewed!)*
