Bringing intention to your health goals

For anyone with kids in school, a new year has begun with a new routine of school and extracurriculars.  This is a great time to reflect on health priorities and goals, and more importantly to put them in the calendar!

You likely know or will know soon when your kids hockey practices, and swimming lessons will be, but what do YOU need right now to support your health goals? Do you need to take things off your list? Or your family’s list? What’s most important to put ON your list? Have you even thought about your list or is it just about your kids’ lists?

It’s difficult to be intentional sometimes.  There is a lot of noise in many directions and the demands of life can be HIGH and overwhelming.

As the intensity picks up in a different way than it may have in the fall, these reflections are so valuable.

Consider the following:

Where do the important things on your list fit on the schedule?

Your downtime, meal planning, grocery shopping, exercise?

Do you need to do all of the things?

Or is this a season where you need to prioritize sleep over exercise, and easy take out meals vs. home cooked food?

You don’t need to and can’t do everything all at once, but you DO need to reflect on what your body needs and how to find that.

This is a great time of year to have these discussions, breakdown your health concerns and put a plan in place to hit the biggest priorities.  When we leave health habits and goals to chance, often the most important things get left to the wayside or happen during ideal weeks, but not during the times when you need them the most.

If you’re feeling uncertain about where to prioritize your time, energy, and effort to support your health goals, let’s talk!
