Efficiency in your healthcare plan

As the oldest of 4, and daughter of two first-generation Dutch immigrants - efficiency has always been a strong value for me.  And while I’ve worked hard to build more rest, recovery and relaxation into my life, I bring that efficiency ethic to my office in my work as a Naturopathic Doctor.

I want you to have results quickly and efficiently. This means that I invest in continuing education programs and software that keep me up-to-date with the most recent research and standards of care. Our understanding of the human body is always changing and you deserve information based on our understanding today, not 30 years ago.

Efficiency means I will order bloodwork.

This helps to decrease the guesswork as to what is causing what in your body.

Efficiency means that we are working to build habits that last a lifetime.

We know that ‘diets’ don’t work long-term, and that basic and sometimes boring fueling principles go a long way.  If we can create a habit of protein in your breakfast, for example - we never have to go back to that principle and can just build and be more specific from there.

Efficiency means I don’t really care where you get that protein from; whether it’s free-range organic eggs or protein powder, I just really want you to have protein.

Efficiency means I might say ‘you really don’t need to take XYZ’ supplement - because I don’t want you to spend money and mental energy on something that doesn’t have research supporting it.

Efficiency means I will push for medication if we’re not seeing the progress we want to see, if we know the medication will have faster and better results.

Efficiency means we’re looking for the easiest of interventions to impact the largest change in your life.
